The Illinios Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers (A.B.L.E.)
was incorporated as a not-for-profit association on November 20, 1984.

Our Logo

represents the unity of African American investigators and Patrol Troopers.
It also depicts the star and shield that is carried by the State Police Officers.
The primary goals of A.B.L.E. are:

  • To ensure that every possible effort is being made to provide equal opportunity for all persons to engage gainful employment within the Illinois State Police.

  • To concentrate and channel our efforts toward African American state police officers in order to continue to professionalize their image and to increase their exposure within the
    African American community.
