One of the goals of the Illinois Black Law Enforcement Officers is to increase their exposure to the African American community.

To do this several community outreach programs were developed such as:

Our annual food drive during the holiday season. Since its inception, A.B.L.E. has distributed over 1500 food baskets to needy families.

Big Brother/Big Sister Unmatched Children Program. A special trip that includes a train ride and lunch for unmatched kids.

Back To School Program, which is held in conjunction with our annual conference. This program introduces young African American children in the community to some of the specialized state troopers and their duties.
